… I was the girl who was good at English, so I used to do my peers’ homework and compositions. At the time I went to a public school, and I felt that my classes were not as advanced as those of my neighborhood friends who studied in private schools or in other public schools. I already knew most of the things the teacher taught us, so I thought that English was too easy. Maybe that is why I pursued a career in languages. This makes me think of students at public schools who succeed at school, but their experiences of learning are ignored—those schools are not failure scenarios …
