Theresa Catalano and Linda Waugh start by asking ‘Why do we need another book about Critical Discourse Analysis?’. I think they answer this question throughout the whole book. This is not just ‘another Critical Discourse Analysis book’. This book is the reconstruction of the history and developments of a field by bringing many research strands and traditions together: those of the pioneers of the field (even from before it became a ‘field’) and those of the many ‘new’ practitioners and researchers, to weave the trajectories and transformations of CDA throughout the years.
